Wenger - Liverpool are not 'super-favourites'
Leaders Liverpool may have beaten both of last season’s top two but they cannot be classed as “super-favourites” for the Premier League title yet, according to Arsène Wenger.
Rafa Benitez’s side are riding high having defeated Manchester United and Chelsea already this season. The Arsenal manager admits the Anfield side are in a “strong position” but argues that no team is truly dominating right now.
For example, Wenger’s side have lost twice themselves this term but they could still close the gap at the top to one point if they beat Tottenham tonight at Emirates Stadium and other results go their way.
“Liverpool have been very consistent until now,” said the Frenchman at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference. “They have an advantage because they have played both Manchester United and Chelsea.
“They are in a strong position, but it is such a long way. It looks to me that nobody dominates the League to make themselves super-favourites at the moment.”
