Arsenal to launch new website in the summer

Arsenal Football Club has commissioned award winning digital agency Rippleffect to re-launch its official website.

The new website is due to be unveiled in the summer of 2008 and will be hosted by NTT Europe Online, part of leading hosting company NTT Communications.

The new website embraces a variety of web 2.0 features including Podcasts, Vodcasts, RSS feeds, social bookmarking, multi-media and user-generated content services.

Rippleffect is developing and testing the new website in full accordance with Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines and Disability Discrimination Act legislation. The new site also makes more use of a white design to increase the usability and readability of key information.

A user group of Arsenal fans has been testing the early site development, with 100% of those polled giving the new Arsenal.com design the thumbs up.

The user group had the following to say about the new site:

"The new website seems more interactive, better presented and easier to navigate."

"The switch to a white background makes it a lot easier to read."

"It's well set out and easy to use."

"I especially like the new ticket information section."
